LIVING SPACES : mindfulness in our homes.

What happened to that closet you wanted to clean up or the broken mirror in the bathroom a year ago? You probably never thought about it again until now. There's a term in Sweden when we no longer see the flaws in our homes - "Home Blind". I am very guilty of this, I have reached to a state that I'm unbothered by the mess or broken things I see at home

I can attest this is the worst thing we can do to our homes or to ourselves. Remember that screeching door or boxes of junk in the garage? We do not intentionally ignore it but came to a point it became invisible over time.

Today I realized that I was putting aside these things until it piled up.

I decided to rearrange my furniture, clear up my closet and give those boxes, then look around again and see if I missed out anything. When we move things around our homes we become more conscious of our environment. Being always connected or mindful with our living spaces creates a conducive home for relaxation, creativity and good relationships.

Make a schedule and stick to it. Keep a checklist and check your progress. Be diligent. Your home will thank you. Your living space will feel much better.
